Robin Russell

Robin Russell was the BBC's variety producer in Scotland and then talks producer.

He was known as 'Charlie' in the Scottish Children's Hour, where one of the most popular songs he sung was "The Bonnie Earl O' Moray".[1]

In the 1930s he was Scotland's sole variety producer, based at Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow.

After the Second World War, Russell returned to the BBC to become its talks producer in Scotland.[2]
