BBC staff

1930 - about 30 people on the programme staff throughout Scotland, and with one exception David Cleghorn Thomson was the oldest. He was 30, the youngest regional director in the BBC.[1]

By May 1936, the total staff of the Scottish Region was 90 —  64 employed in Edinburgh (all Scots but one[2]), 26 in Glasgow and 10 in Aberdeen. In addition, there were the 39 members of the BBC Scottish Orchestra and 36 engineers employed by the BBC in Scotland.[3] The number of offices in the whole of the Region was 43 — 24 in Edinburgh, 15 in Glasgow and four in Aberdeen. Edinburgh had six studios, Glasgow four, and Aberdeen three.[4]
